1. Please explain your business and what you do or provide.

2. What are the primary goals of the new website or website re-design? I.E. to have a new look, to be able to edit content, provide new or different information, to boost traffic, to show a video, to sell a product, etc...

3. Do you have special features in mind like shopping cart functionality, photo gallery, a blog, RSS feed, forms with emails, newsletter signup, auto-responders, advertising landing/call- to-action pages, etc.? Please provide some general examples of these special features and we can assess these needs individually.

4. Do you have a domain name? If not, do you have ideas on one? If so, what is it?

5. Do you have web hosting? If not, are you interested in us providing this and would you like to hear more about referral partners? If you do have web hosting, who is it through?

6. What is your timeline for the project? Do you have a specific deadline or are you flexible with this?

LAYOUT/DESIGN:

1. Do you have ideas of the colors to be used, and colors you don’t like? (this typically will tie in with the colors used in your logo if you have one).

2. Please provide a list of websites that you like and don’t like. What do you or do you not like about these sites? Please pay careful attention to this question and take the time to really think about it because this will influence how your site will be designed.

3. What about the theme or feel of the website in general... Do you want it to be minimal, modern or clean or do you want it to be loud, eye catching or very visual?

4. Do you have existing business cards or other printed material we need to match?

CONTENT:

1. Please attach a list of the main pages or sections you anticipate for the website. This will be a general sitemap for your site likely containing the pages that will appear in your website navigation. This may be a mirror of what you have now and/or can include additional pages/sections you’d like to add. We can use an existing site as a reference if you already have one.

2. In addition to the pages on your site you will also likely want to include some sidebar content. Sidebar content can be a great way to provide additional related links, or other related content on a page or section. Please provide some ideas for sidebar content, this can include calls to action, sign up forms, internal links, related links, etc. Keep in mind sidebars can be used in multiple places throughout the website.

3. Aside from page content and sidebar content are there any other specific elements that you want to be able to edit? I.E., a notice to visitors that you can post at certain times of the year or maybe a place for you to update your store hours (different from a page displaying your store hours)...

4. Have you created the copy text for any of your pages? Is it on your current website? Do you have someone who will take on this responsibility or do you need assistance with this process?

CONTENT:

1. Who is your intended audience? Are they regional, industry specific, company size specific, etc.?

2. Do you intend to provide a call to action - I.E. make a sale, call in to your office, fill out a form, etc? Typically calls to action are bold or highlighted areas, buttons or links that call attention to important things on the website.

3. Describe your ideal client/customer/visitor and the specific attributes that we’ll be targeting for them in your website.

4. What separates your company from your competition and what do you expect will draw clients to the website?

5. How do you plan to market the website if at all and how would you like it to integrate with Facebook, blogging, etc.)?
